FoundryMate Privacy Policy
FoundryMate is a Warframe companion overlay built on the Overwolf/ow-electron platform. Your privacy matters. This policy explains what data the app accesses, how it's used, and what leaves your computer.
Data We Access
Game Data (via Overwolf Game Events Provider)
FoundryMate reads your Warframe inventory, equipment, blueprints, and crafting state through Overwolf's Game Events Provider (GEP). This includes:
- Owned warframes, weapons, companions, and archwing
- Resource quantities and blueprints
- Foundry crafting progress
- Account level and mastery rank
Your Warframe game data is processed entirely on your local machine. It is never sent to our servers, and it is never combined with or shared with the advertising layer described below.
Warframe World State
The app fetches publicly available game data from Digital Extremes' API (api.warframe.com) to display fissures, events, Baro Ki'Teer stock, and world cycles. No user data is sent in these requests.
Advertising
FoundryMate is free and supported by in-app ads served through Overwolf. To display these ads, Overwolf and its advertising partners may store and/or access information on your device and process personal data such as your IP address and cookies or similar identifiers. This supports purposes including storing and accessing information on a device, personalised advertising and content, ad and content measurement, audience research, and developing services.
Ads appear only within the FoundryMate app window. The advertising layer is operated by Overwolf and its partners and is separate from your game data, which stays on your machine and is never sent to the ad network. Overwolf acts as the data controller for the advertising layer; see Overwolf's Privacy Policy.
Consent & Your Choices
In regions with applicable privacy laws (the EU/EEA and UK under the GDPR, and California under the CCPA/CPRA), FoundryMate shows a consent screen the first time it runs, before any personalised ads load. FoundryMate uses Overwolf's Consent Management Platform (CMP), which participates in the IAB Transparency & Consent Framework (TCF).
You can review or change your choices at any time from Settings → Privacy → "Ad & Cookie Preferences" (Manage). There you can grant or withdraw consent for advertising purposes and vendors, including opting out of the sale or sharing of personal information where that right applies. The full list of advertising vendors is available through the consent screen.
Optional Features That Communicate Externally
Warframe Market Integration (Opt-In)
If you choose to use the Warframe Market features, the app communicates with warframe.market to fetch item prices and order data. If you log into Warframe Market through the app, your WFM credentials and trading activity are handled directly between you and warframe.market. FoundryMate does not store your WF Market password.
Discord Webhooks (Opt-In)
You may optionally configure a Discord webhook URL to receive alert notifications. Only the specific alert data you configure is sent to the webhook you provide. No other data is transmitted.
Squad Sync (Local Network Only)
The Squad Sync feature uses a local WebSocket server (port 47831) for communication between FoundryMate instances on the same network. This data never leaves your local network and is not sent to any external server.
What FoundryMate Does NOT Do
- We do not run our own analytics or telemetry
- We do not track your behaviour for our own purposes
- We do not send crash reports automatically; a bug report is only sent when you choose to send one
- We do not collect your name, and only receive your email if you choose to include it in a bug report or email us; we never store your Warframe Market password
- We never send your Warframe game/inventory data to our servers or to the advertising network
The advertising layer described above does process limited data (such as IP address and cookies), subject to your consent. That is handled by Overwolf and its advertising partners, not by FoundryMate's own systems.
Local Storage
FoundryMate stores your settings, queue, and cached inventory data locally on your computer using Electron's standard storage mechanisms (localStorage and userData directory). This data stays on your machine and is not synced to any cloud service.
This Website, Bug Reports, the Uninstall Survey & Support Email
This website is hosted on Cloudflare, which processes your IP address to deliver pages and protect the site from abuse; see Cloudflare's Privacy Policy. The website uses no cookies, analytics, or tracking.
After you uninstall FoundryMate, the installer may open an optional survey on this website. If you submit it, we store only the reason you picked, your optional comment, the FoundryMate version, and the time of submission. We do not store your IP address or any identifier with your answer, and we use the feedback only to improve the app. Please don't include personal information in the comment.
In-app bug reports. If you send a report from Settings → Help & Feedback, we receive the report type, your message, and your email address if you choose to give one. With "Include app info" ticked, the report also contains your FoundryMate and Windows versions, language and basic connection status (for example, whether Warframe is running and whether your inventory has synced). With "Attach recent log" ticked, it includes the most recent part of FoundryMate's log file; your Warframe username, Windows user name, email addresses and anything that looks like a password or key are removed first, and the form shows exactly what will be sent. Reports are stored on Cloudflare and emailed to our support inbox. We use them only to fix problems and reply to you, and we don't store your IP address with them.
If you email support@foundrymate.app, we receive your email address and whatever you send, and use them only to reply to you.
